- Preschool Dance
Creative
Movement, Pre-I and Pre-II are specifically designed for the 2 1/2 to 6-year old
beginning student. These once per week classes provide students with an
early start on learning rhythm, large motor skills, classroom discipline and
most of all, a love for dancing. Pre-ballet and tap are introduced in the
Pre-I & II Levels. Class times vary from 30 to 60 minutes. To

- Child Dance
(Beginner - Advance)
- Children's Dance is carefully designed for the
6-8 year old student. Strengthening exercises and introduction to basic
movements and combinations in both ballet and tap dance are an exciting part of

Ballet
(Levels I - VII)
- Colorado School of Dance's classical ballet
program focuses on training the student with the correct technique, while
learning terminology and musical phrasing. Emphasis on the alignment of
the body, while building strength and flexibility gives both the beginner and
pre-professional dancer a strong foundation in classical ballet. To view

- Tap
(Levels I - VII)
- From Bo Jangles to Broadway, students can't
escape the rhythm of tap dancing. Emphasis on rhythm and coordination will
be exercised through basic steps, complex combinations, time steps and the

Jazz
and Hip Hop (Levels I - VII)
- These dance forms emphasize more of the modern
movement of the body, from contemporary techniques to traditional styles.
Students will learn floor combinations, leaps and traveling moves. Level
III and up must be taking at least one ballet or technique class per week.

- Lyrical
- Lyrical is a beautiful extension of Ballet,
and this art form gives dancers a chance to create more passion and theatrics
into their technique. Colorado School of Dance's Lyrical Class is
liturgical-based, and students perform frequently. Dancers must be at

- Pointe
(Levels IV - VII)
- Pointe work is introduced to dancers whom have developed sufficient strength. Students must take at least three ballet technique classes per week outside of pointe class. Students must be 12 years old, with several years of ballet experience. Students will be evaluated at the end of the of year.

- Gold Medal Poms
(Mini to Senior Teams)
- A high-intensity jazz/poms class, involving a
lot of choreography with and without poms/props. This is a great class for
cheerleaders and pom hopefuls, and taught by a former University Pom's Dancer.

- Adult Classes
- Colorado School of Dance offers Adult classes in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap and Ballroom.

- Company
- Colorado School of Dance houses the Colorado
Youth Ballet Company. Auditions are required and the ballet directors
Megan Moore and Rebecca Dean place dancers in one of the four Companies.

Productions
Colorado Youth Ballet company presents the annual Nutcracker of Parker and a Spring Ballet every other year (Coppelia (2004), Wizard of Oz (2006), and The Snow Queen for 2008)
