The Dance Conservatory Program

Ballet (Levels 1b 6a)
Colorado School of Dance’s ballet program, beginning in 2nd Grade, is known in the state as one of the most accomplished schools of classical ballet and follows our strict ballet curriculum (combined Cecchiti, Vaganova and ABT). Each level from 1B (Beginning Level 1) to 1A (Advanced Level 1) focuses on training the student with strong, correct technique, while learning proper terminology, musical phrasing, variations. Emphasis on the alignment of the body, while building strength and flexibility gives both the beginner and pre-professional dancer a strong foundation in classical ballet. Each level takes two years to complete, and progressions are as follows: level 1: basic years learning barre, center and across the floor; level 2: secondary years learning turns, leaps and improving on technique; level 3: pre-pointe years, with the first year focused on character dance and the second year focused on Pre-Pointe study; Ballet 4: beginning pointe and variations; Ballet 5: Partnering, variations and continued technical and performance years; Ballet 6: Pre-Professional training years (these dancers generally audition and enter into upper level college level 300/400 classes). Pre-requisite: Child Dance or 2nd Grader

Jazz (Levels 1b 6a)
